Last fall I had the opportunity to test drive the 2016 Mazda CX-9 and honestly, it became my favorite SUV to drive. So, of course I couldn’t say no when the chance to drive the 2017 Mazda CX-9 for a week. With pretty much all the same features and in my favorite machine gray metallic color & auburn interior leather, it continues to my on my favorite for color & style.
The 2017 Mazda CX-9 fits my entire family with the three rows, and seating for up to seven. Car seats can easily be added to the vehicle, but are not that easy for quick ins-and outs. I’d recommend once they’re harnessed in, you leave it that way. I adore the moon roof and appreciate the second row window shades for the little ones. Minimal trunk space , as we weren’t able to even fit a large ice chest cooler in the trunk area with the seating up. However, if you’re not using the entire third row, you can lay the seats down for more space.
I really like the display/commander control of the Mazda, it sets apart from other vehicles and great looking. The rear back up cam is fantastic and I did a lot of night driving in the Mazda CX-9 this time around, and typically I don’t like to do a lot of night driving, but I felt safe & was able to see great at all times.
If you’re looking at gas milage, we had the CX-9 all over the place – highway, rural and town driving and averaged right around 24 MPG. Check out your local Mazda dealer to take a 2017 Mazda CX-9 for a test drive today.
