Weight Watchers Beyond the Scale

This post was sponsored by Weight Watchers through their partnership with POPSUGAR Select. While I was compensated to write a post about Weight Watchers Beyond the Scale, all opinions are my own.WW planOver the last year and a half I’ve been sharing with you more and more about my weight loss and fitness goals. What inspires, works and motivates me to have no excuses and take care of myself. Learning to take care of yourself and put you as number one sometimes can be hard, especially being a wife and mother to four little ones. Then it dawned on me one day that I had to take care of myself, and that’s when my journey with Weight Watchers began over a year and a half ago. It’s kept me accountable and helped me achieve not only my weight loss goals, but fitness goals as well – like completing two half marathons in six months & running hundreds of miles, along with medals & many other rewarding fitness related-achievements.

Just recently Weight Watchers has started the Beyond the Scale Program where they inspire and encourage you to make healthier choices beyond just the scale.  While they’re still about using the scale as a measure for weight loss progress, there are also many things to celebrate like making healthy food choices, adding fitness activity into your lifestyle and overall creating a happier, healthier you! With the Beyond the Scale Program, it’s all about a holistic lifestyle. Weight Watchers offers a holistic approach to healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. Beyond the Scale is not a diet, in addition to managing how you eat the program focuses a lot on fulfillment and helping you find your inner strength so you can be happier and healthier by taking care of yourself.

How do I use Weight Watchers?WW Beyond

I’m a firm believer in sticking to my point values. Weight Watchers gives you all the tools to do so and once you get the hang of it I feel like there really are no excuses. They equip you with eTools, which is at your fingertips because it’s on your phone (and how many of us are without our phones… well, ever?) You can track EVERYTHING – your water intake, food, fitness achieved and just about any food you can think of is available with the point value. Even your favorite restaurants are in eTools, making dining out easy to keep track of.  For those of you unfamiliar with what SmartPoints™ even are… when you start Weight Watchers you will be given a personalized SmartPoints™ budget which takes into consideration your current weight, height, gender and age. It’s a daily allowance plus a weekly allowance of SmartPoints™ to spend on splurges, bigger portion or going out. It’s a simple counting system and it’s really easy to use. It nudges towards nutritious, healthier foods so that you eat and feel better, have energy and lose weight. Keep track of those SmartPoints™ and you’ll be eating healthier in no time.

When you sign up you’ll have access to eTools, get a Pocket Guide book and will help you find foods and dishes with their point values, and get a Plan Guide that has recipes, point values and tons more information to get started. Attend the weekly meetings, like I do, to get weighed in, join in the conversation with others for motivation and encouragement – they even have weekly handouts with recipes, articles and more to help keep you accountable.weekly WW

As for fitness, the new Weight Watchers Beyond the Scale Program helps you keep a positive mindset and incorporate fitness that works for you. That doesn’t mean visiting the gym everyday, but incorporating little lifestyle changes into your daily routine. For example taking the stairs instead of the elevator, parking further away from the door and walking more. I’m a busy momma of four, so finding the time to work out/run and add fitness into my daily life is challenging but with encouragement and knowing the results will come (and they WILL if you stick with the program), I know I can do it. I take my children with me when I run, whether it be letting them ride their bikes or bundling the little one up in the stroller – even in the snow! It’s a mindset and once you tell yourself YOU CAN, I promise YOU CAN!WW Fitness

I’ve written about Weight Watchers regularly in my weekly post updates while I was in training and one of my favorite posts is 10 Reasons Why I Love Weight Watchers, if you want some more reasons why I can’t recommend the program enough. Visit the Weight Watchers webpage for more on the Beyond the Scale program. Find a meeting in near you and take the leap! You’ll be so glad you did.
