This summer we’ve been using the Roku Streaming Stick, a portable, pocket-sized streaming device that delivers quality picture and entertainment to your television. The Roku Streaming Stick uses a quad-core processor that actually has more processing power than Amazon Fire TV stick and Google Chromecast. It allows for private listening via a mobile phone or tablet using the Roku Mobile App, an easy to use remote (that even my kids can do with ease), a small sleek design so you can move from all of your televisions and even take while on vacation. My husband likes that you can play personal video, photo’s and music on your home TV using the Play on Roku feature, controlling with the Roku Mobile App.
The Roku Streaming Stick has more than 3,000 channels in the Roku channel store like..
- The top streaming channels including HBO NOW, Showtime, Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu and more.
- Sports channels like non other including MLB, Big Ten Network, NFL Sunday Ticket, NBA Game Time, NHL GameCenter Live & more.
- Weather Channels
- Children’s channels and other lifestyle and audience interested specific channels.
- A great selection of music channels, such as Spotify and Pandora.
We really like that we can search for different television shows to watch, even catching some of our classic favorites. I don’t have to worry about inappropriate programming coming on after I turn a television show on for my child, or the fact that another show is going to pop up after the one turned on is played. Great for limited screen time and raising a family.
The Roku is a great alternative to not wanting to spend a fortune on regular cable services. Pay the one time fee and then unless you want specific channels not included, on-demand fees or subscriptions may apply. Visit the Roku website to learn more & you can purchase at various stores like Walmart, Best Buy & even Amazon. All Roku players come with a 1 year warranty.
